Often diabolized by error, the German Shepherd is one of the best dogs for accompanying
children.
It loves to play with the child, specially with a ball, and let children approach it.
The more children are young the more it plays with them with delicacy.
When searching for survivors after an earthquake for sample, German Shepherd are specially
sensitive to children odor, and try to save them first. However this kind of approach
must be under the control of the Master and in the presence of the parents or of an adult.
Indeed children could play with the dog's tail for sample, and it does not like that at it
hurts it, and children could be accidentally bit.
For the dog to understand children are superior to it, and that it has to obey to them,
the hierarchy must have been learned to the pup from the youngest age (first the master,
then other adults, then children, finally the dog). |
